Jonathan Young

Jonathan Young is a science librarian in the Science and Technology Reference Department of Hamilton Library. Jonathan’s background is originally in neurobiology, receiving a Master of Science in Computation and Neural Systems from Caltech in 2008 before moving into the library science field, culminating in a Ph.D. in Communication and Information Sciences from UH Mānoa in 2017. His dissertation used bibliometric methods to study interdisciplinarity in publications in translational medical research. As the Natural Sciences librarian at UH Mānoa, he continues to do research and assist faculty with bibliometrics, scholarly impact evaluation, open access, and emerging information technologies such as AI.
