Yati is the Southeast Asia Studies Librarian at Hamilton Library serving as the liaison to the Center for Southeast Asia Studies. One of her primary responsibilities is selecting and providing access to resources for studying various fields of Southeast Asia.
Yati is a Bugis, born in Sulawesi and raised in Sumatra, Indonesia. She has lived in Hawaiʻi for over 25 years starting off as a graduate student in the Library School of UH-Mānoa in the early 1990s and working as a librarian since September 2001. Yati went to school in Indonesia, Singapore and the United States and she is fluent in Buginese, Indonesian, Malay, Minangkabau and English.
