Water and the Law in Hawaiʻi

This book provides a legal and intellectual framework for understanding both the past and future of Hawaiʻi’s freshwater resources. It provides both legal and academic descriptors of the kānāwai (laws) of water preservation, water science and freshwater use, including Hawaiʻi Supreme Court decisions on water and Hawaiian customs and traditions around the ʻāina (land) and wai (water).
