Introduction to Zotero
Repeat Workshop
Wednesday, October 23, 2024
12:00 pm – 1:30 pm
New Location: Hamilton Library Room 306
This workshop introduces Zotero, a free, easy-to-use tool for collecting, organizing, and citing your research sources. Topics covered will include:
- Adding references and PDFs to your Zotero library
- Organizing and managing references using collections
- Creating Notes
- Inserting citations and creating a bibliography in Microsoft Word or Google Docs
Participants must install the Zotero stand-alone program and browser connector on their computers prior to the workshop (www.zotero.org).
Please make sure to have the Zotero program and the browser connector installed. We recommend Chrome or Firefox when using Zotero.
Please contact Brian at richards@hawaii.edu if you have any issues with the installation.
Three things to check on your computer:
- You have a Zotero program in your applications folder.
- There is a little button along the top of your browser window (the location is the same, but the image changes depending on what you’re looking at.
- You have a “Zotero” tab in your Microsoft Word or Google Docs document that allows you to create citations and bibliographies.
