Kuykendall 101 Auditorium

The Office of Faculty Development and Academic Support manages the schedule for the 196-seat (pre-COVID) Kuykendall 101 Auditorium for occasional bookings for UHM classes without media access or for UHM events requiring media usage. Please review the policy information below before requesting use of the auditorium.

Eligibility

  • Instructors of UHM credit courses requiring access to instructional technology equipment not readily available at their assigned classroom site may reserve Kuykendall 101 Auditorium for occasional use.
  • University office staff may reserve the auditorium on a space-available basis for non-instructional, university-related functions, provided that a need for the equipment exists.
  • Registered student organizations (RIO) are eligible to reserve the auditorium, but must be scheduled through their faculty advisor.

Availability

Kuykendall 101 auditorium is available for use during regular OFDAS business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:20pm, and is not available during weekends, university-observed holidays or after-hour/evening use.


Reservations and Scheduling

Reservations for the auditorium are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Requests are accepted approximately one month prior to the start of the semester. Advance reservations are not required but recommended due to heavy demand. Clients are limited to 10 bookings per semester, per course. Requests for reservations are made online.

All non-instructional events (not related to a course with a CRN on the Schedule of Classes) require Provost's approval. All approvals are subject to following all other campus protocols for reserving and using facilities on campus, including the notification of appropriate offices (i.e., parking, security, etc), and compliance with all applicable UH, State, and City & County requirements and restrictions. Please be reminded that requests are reviewed and processed by various offices so please allow sufficient time for review, approval and confirmation as you plan your event. Requests should be submitted to provost@hawaii.edu.

Please include the following information in your request:

  • Primary contact name
  • Primary contact email address
  • Group or dept name
  • Date and time requested
  • Number of people to attend
  • Purpose: i.e., weekly meetings, workshops
  • COVID mitigation plan

Once approved, units will forward the approval email to mareserv@hawaii.edu and ofdas@hawaii.edu. After receiving Provost approval, the requestor must also submit a request through the WCC online form.


Access to Kuykendall 101 Auditorium

Clients must check-in at OFDAS in Kuykendall 107 prior to the scheduled event. Smoking, eating, or drinking is strictly prohibited in the auditorium. Clients are responsible for ensuring that this policy is rigidly enforced.


Technician Assistance

Clients needing assistance should contact the OFDAS Media Services Manager to arrange a technician to demonstrate equipment operation or other room features at the time of check-in.
