Writing Accountability Groups (WAGs)
June 2 – August 4, 2025
Once a week, Times TBD
Online and Kuykendall 106 Events Room
Need to get a lot of writing done this summer? If so, consider joining a Writing Accountability Group (WAG). Each active writing group will meet once a week from the week of June 2nd to August 4th (a 10-week period). OFDAS will organize meeting logistics and group coordination, allowing you to focus on the task of writing—and ultimately completing—important projects.
Committing to a plan will help you develop a process and habit of writing. You will achieve increased writing productivity, experience improved goal-setting and time management, and establish relationships with colleagues outside your department. Faculty will be paired with other faculty, and grad students will be paired with other grad students.
Each WAG is limited to 4–8 members who must commit to attending at least 7 of the 10 weekly sessions. Groups adhere to a strict agenda:
- 5 mins: Updates and goal-setting
- 50 mins: Individual writing
- 5 mins: Reporting and wrap-up
Note: There is no peer review of your writing.
Email fmp@hawaii.edu if you have any questions.
This event is co-sponsored by the Graduate Division and the OFDAS Faculty Mentoring Program (FMP).
We strive to host inclusive and accessible presentations. Some events are in person, others online. For online, live captioning will be provided. To request additional accommodations, please email us before the event. Mahalo!
