Regular and Substantive Interactions in Online and Hybrid Courses

Meeting Federal and Accreditation Standards

Friday, June 5, 2026
10:00 am – 11:30 am
Online

The interactions between instructors and students are central to learning in higher education. Additionally, Federal and accreditor requirements require that online and hybrid courses provide regular and substantive interaction (RSI) to distinguish themselves from correspondence courses and to qualify for financial aid. How can faculty ensure that their course plans meet the standards?  How does one document the required regular and substantive interactions? This presentation will guide you through the standards and documentation required.
