Mentoring for What Comes Next:

Preparing Graduate Students for Academia and Beyond

Thursday, February 12, 2026
12:00 pm – 12:45 pm
Online

The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa would like to introduce two resources to support graduate student and postdoc career and professional development: Beyond Graduate School (for master’s students) and Beyond the Professoriate (for PhDs). We’re hosting an information session for faculty and staff to learn more about these online career training platforms.

Join us on Thursday, February 12 at 12:00 pm for a 45-minute session led by Dr. Susan Joudrey (Director of Partnership and Learner Engagement). She will share:

  • The unique professional development needs of master’s and doctoral students.
  • How the research-informed curriculum available to students in the platforms can help them explore career options and prepare for a job search either in academia or beyond.
  • How faculty and departments can use these platforms in mentoring and advising graduate students for career success.

Presented by

Dr. Susan Joudrey
Director of Partnership and Learner Engagement, The Center for Graduate Career Success
