Welcome, new faculty, to the University of Hawaii! As you embark on your journey with us, the Information Technology Services (ITS) team is here to empower your success. This section provides a comprehensive overview of the vital technology resources and support available to you.
Discover our robust research computing infrastructure, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), High Performance Computing cluster: Koa, and secure storage solutions like KoaStorage and Dropbox, along with pathways to national-level resources. Learn how our dedicated Client Service and Operations Center (CSOC) can assist with your daily tech needs, explain Google Drive/Gmail policies, and guide you through various service tiers.
The Site License Office provides access to a wide array of software, much of it free for faculty use. Explore our advanced infrastructure services such as co-location, VM hosting, UH VPN, and seamless WiFi connectivity.
Crucially, we’ll introduce you to cybersecurity best practices and relevant regulations impacting research, alongside an overview of data governance, UH data classification, and appropriate storage types for sensitive information. We’ll also provide guidance on AI.
Our goal is to ensure you’re well-equipped with the technological foundation for your teaching, research, and service. Your technological success is our priority.
