Providing Feedback on Student Writing
Friday, September 17, 2021
11:30 am–12:45 pm
Online Event
Writing-focused courses allow students to improve their writing through explicit instruction and opportunities for feedback and revision. Disciplinary faculty may be reluctant to teach W-focus courses, however, because they are also required to provide extensive feedback on students’ written work. Response to writing does not need to be exhausting! This workshop introduces faculty to current best practices in response to writing, including written commentary and corrective feedback, writing conferences, and peer response. Participants will consider ways that they can modify approaches to fit their specific contexts and students.
This event is for all faculty, not only those teaching W-focus courses.
