Disability Studies in Action: Practices in the Classroom and Beyond

Monday, January 24, 2022
11:30 am–12:45 pm
Online Event

Faculty, lecturers, graduate students, and educators: Are you interested in questions around disability and diversity? Looking to expand or revise your curriculum, course materials, and assignments, but unsure where to begin or how to incorporate disability into your respective field? Join us for lunch at our first faculty roundtable, where Professors Brett Oppegaard (Communications), Emily West (English), and Raphael Raphael (Center on Disability Studies) will discuss their practices and innovations for including disability in their course designs. They will offer concrete examples and recommendations that have helped students think more critically about disability. Faculty presentations may cover concrete assignments, useful readings and other course materials, or technological innovations.

The Roundtable will be moderated by Professor Katharina Heyer (Political Science)

This event is sponsored by the OFDAS Center for Teaching Excellence, and hosted by the Disability Studies Initiative (DSI).
