AI and Writing Assignments:
Sharing Practices, Building Community
Wednesday, April 15, 2026
11:30 am – 12:45 pm
Online
The OFDAS Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) and the General Education Writing Board continue their collaboration with this interactive workshop focused on teaching writing in the age of AI. Building on prior conversations, this session creates space for instructors to reflect on evolving practices and share approaches to integrating, or thoughtfully limiting, AI in writing assignments.
The workshop will open with brief descriptions from our presenters of a diverse set of examples from across disciplines. Participants will then move into small, topic-focused breakout groups to gain more information, discuss successes and challenges, exchange ideas, share assignments or collaboratively develop approaches to writing instruction in a rapidly changing digital landscape. Whether you are embracing AI, setting boundaries around its use, or still exploring your approach, this session offers practical insights and adaptable strategies for writing-intensive courses and beyond.*
