Orientation Session 1 - Welina Mānoa and Oli, a Hawaiian style welcome and chant from Native Hawaiian Affairs, greetings from the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and presentations on perspectives from diverse disciplines on teaching and learning and professional development.

UH Mānoa Bookstore Special Event for New Faculty - To meet the managers and become familiar with the bookstore as a resource for textbooks, computers, an Interactive Digital Access Program, Apple authorized dealer and Dell products, and enjoy a special sales opportunity for new faculty!

University of Hawai‘i Professional Assembly (UHPA) Sponsored Lunch - UHPA will share information on collective bargaining and contract issues.

Orientation Session 3 - OFDAS will provide information on faculty professional development, events, and support services, and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Personnel will address contract renewal, promotion, tenure and faculty support, followed by a brief introduction from the Mānoa Faculty Senate.

Faculty Development Activities

During the academic year and summer months, the Office of Faculty Development and Academic Support (OFDAS), the Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE), the Center for Instructional Support (CIS), and the Faculty Mentoring Program (FMP) sponsor services and programs to acquaint you with resources and opportunities for professional development workshops and panel discussions designed to enhance teaching, research and professional concerns.  Event fliers are sent to each department for posting and emailed to department chairs for dissemination to faculty.  A notice of each event is emailed directly to all Mānoa faculty via announce@uh and announcements are posted to websites at:
